Below are some portrait locations to choose from.

I am more than willing to travel to a location within 45 minutes of the Valdez Alaska City Center. Hiking to the perfect location doesn't scare this photographer!

Your Own Home

All the photos above were taken by stepping outside, or finding a good window. Photos inside your home will work if you have a well lit area. But more often than not, home photos can be less stressful, and add be the "one of a kind" look I LOVE giving to clients in Valdez.

Old Town is a great location with lots of diversity. With easy access to ocean views, wildflowers and  mountain backgrounds this is a FAVORITE of mine for small children in Valdez. We can spend less time traveling, and more time snapping personality-filled portraits.

Baseball Field Pond

This is a beautiful option and the shortest " hike" around Valdez. This is a perfect location for the baby that may need something from the car during a shoot.

Civic Center

The Valdez Civic Center is a surprisingly good option. Walking to the look out trail is a simple way to stairs with foliage surrounding them. The sunsets in fall time make this lighting location a great Alaskan option.

Thompson Pass

Thompson Pass is a great location for fall or summer if you are going to be near Valdez, Alaska. Weather can be a gamble because of the fog. However, a cloudless day on the pass is a beautiful setting.  This booking takes special booking and permission due to weather. (I also need to get a babysitter!)

Mineral Creek

Mineral Creek  is a place to go with lots of variety! In in winter, there are lots of midday highlights to capture. In summer, there are waterfalls, grays in the background and greens foliage.

The lighting can be variable during winter verses summer. In winter, midday to early afternoon is the best time. In the summer, after the light has gone behind the mountains, the lighting is less harsh.

This location is behind the baseball fields in Valdez, Alaska. You get to drive down dirt road with beautiful trees surrounding. In September, it smells like stinky fish, but makes beautiful fall photos!

Homestead Road

This location is right on the side of homestead road, next to the mineral creek outlet. It is a stunning winter backdrop with mountainous views and river rock. This is a easy location to get to! However, if we have freezing rain, you may want to wear your spikes!

Picturesque Valdez Alaska

When you think of Valdez, this is the view that most likely pops into your mind. This is a stunning location! To get here, we park at the cabin and walk across the highway. This is not the best location for little kids who will want to splash in all of those puddles. For the kids who can cross the highway and not mind the cars passing by, this location is a keeper!

Kelsey Dock

This is the perfect location for people who want to make it look like you hiked a long

way for a photo, but you just walked across the parking lot. You can do the ocean view, as well as these beautiful rock backgrounds.

Dock Point

This location is perfect for fall lighting. The sun location makes this spot pop with color. There are a lot of light poles to photoshop out of this location, so if you need a quick turn around time (less than two weeks to get your photos back), this may not be the best choice for you.

Photographer's Choice

If you don't want the hassle of picking a location, I will choose one for you ! Just let me know what you are wanting out of your location, and I'll tell you where to meet me. If you want mountains, evergreen trees, moody tones, or oceans views, we can find something effortless for your portrait day.
